Built for no signal

Never walk down the Incline steps. To leave early, keep climbing to the next marked exit.

The app keeps the way down offline and alarms if you head the wrong way.

  1. At the top of the steps

At the top of the steps, turn LEFT (south) and go DOWNHILL on the connector to Barr Trail (about 0.6 mi, about 300 ft down). Don't continue straight (west) uphill.

  2. At the Barr Trail T

At Barr Trail, turn sharply LEFT, doubling back downhill (south-east). Straight ahead climbs to Barr Camp. Don't go up.

The trailhead is about 2.5 mi down.

Emergency? Call 911.

Call 911 if you can. Text 911 only if you can't call. The El Paso-Teller County 911 Authority says Text-to-911 is available here, but you need a signal and a text plan, and a text can be slow. Start with where you are (Manitou Incline, about which step), then what happened. Plain text only: no photos or group messages.
